USS Arizona Under Attack in Pearl Harbor
|
The USS Arizona was a United States Navy, Pennsylvania Class, BB-39
battleship. It was commissioned in 1916 and it was
in service during both World War I and World War II. It was
sunk into Pearl Harbor by Japanese fighter planes on December
7, 1941. The sunken ship and many of its 1177 crew members
remain at the bottom of Pearl Harbor today. A memorial has
been erected over it. The USS Arizona Memorial is the most
popular visitor attraction in Hawaii.
