Lappert's Ice Cream Shops in Hawaii
This ice cream comapany founded by Austria-born Walter Lappert
in the 1980's after he and his wife retird on the island of Kauai.
Lappert's features ice cream with 16 to 18 percent butterfat,
which can be compared to the 10% contained in many
other ice creams. Features Hawaii flavors such as
Kona coffee, guava cheesecake, mango, poha berry, and
standard ice cream flavors as well. They also have
a few fat free and sugar free flavors, but their main
offering is a creamy, higher fat ice cream.
Bubbies Ice Cream Shops in Hawaii
Their specialty is a bite-size frozen mochi treat featuring
a ball of ice cream wrapped in a sweeetened rice (mochi)
coating that are available in about 20 flavors. They also
sell pints of ice cream and ice cream cakes.
Oprah made these mochi treats famous. Bubbies
has two shops in Hawaii, near the University of Hawaii and at
the Koko Marina Shopping Center on Oahu. Their factory
and headquarters is in Aiea.

The last time I checked Farrell's had two locations
in Hawaii, one at the Windward Mall in Kaneohe, East Oahu
and one at the Uptown Pearlridge Shopping Center
in Aiea, Central Oahu.
