All of the autobiographies, romance novels, adventure novels, and children's books written by Armine von Tempski between 1927 and 1946 are still available because they were all reprinted by the Ox Bow Press in the 1980's and 1990's.

Her First Novel "Hula" Was Made Into a Movie
Clara Bow and Clive Brook starred in the 64 minute 1927 movie version of Armine von Tempski's firest novel "Hula" and Duke Kahanamoku had a part also. Directe4d by Victor Fleming. Description by one viewer: "a vivacious 'it girl' of the roaring 20's raised on a ranch near Hana in Hawaii. She is the idealized flapper woman who remains true to herself amid her artificial, irresponsible friends and family. She swims nude, and in a grass skirt does a dance that appears to be some strange combination of the hula and the Charleston.". And by another viewer: "Hawaiian girl Bow resorts to nude swimming, drunken dancing, and dynamite to win stiff-upper-lipped, married engineer Clive Brook. A field day for Bow watchers and the censors.". And another: "You ain't seen it all till you watch Clara Bow do her naughty wiggle".
PLOT: A pampered but free spirited girl named Hula Calhoun falls for a young English engineer who is building a dam on her father's Hawaiian plantation.
