Southeast Hawaiian Islands by Size

Hawaii Island is by far the largest of the southeast Hawaiian Islands, and it includes about sixty percent of the total area of those islands. That island is also known as "The Big Island of Hawaii" because of its size and also to differentiate it from the state of Hawaii. The islands of Maui, Oahu, and Kauai all together occupy about thirty percent of Hawaii's total area. The smallest of Hawaii's main islands are Molokai, Lanai, Niihau, and Kahoolawe.

Unpopulated islet about 23 miles southwest of Niihau. Often considered to be part of the Northwest Hawaiian Islands.
