The Two Sections of Highway 440

There are two sections of State Route 440, each section has a different name, and both sections meet in the north in Lanai City.

Kaumalapau Highway
The northwest section of State Route 440 extends southwest from Lanai City. It connects that town with the Lanai Airport and Lanai's commercial port at Kaumalapau Harbor on the west coast of the island.

Manele Road
The southeast section of State Route 440 extends south from Lanai City. It connects that town with the south coast of Lanai Island, which includes the ultra-luxury beach resort area at Hulopoe Bay and the ferry port and small boat harbor at Manele Bay.
