This Kalua Puaa (aka Hawaiian roast pork) luau recipe was provided courtesy of the Polynesian Cultural Center on the northeast shore of Oahu Island in Hawaii. The Polynesian Cultural Center's published luau recipes are similar to the recipes used for their Alii Luau Feast. Ingredients
- 3 pounds of pork butt
InstructionsRinse the pork with cold water and place it in medium-size roasting pan. Rub the salt onto the pork butt. Pour the half gallon of water into the pan. Cover the pork with ti leaves and cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees F for 2 or 3 hours, or until meat is very tender and can be shredded with a fork. Remove the foil and the ti leaves;. Remove the bones and excess fat and shred the pork. Add more Hawaiian salt if needed for taste. Resources(to be added) Collection of Recipes From Hawaii
