Haupia Polynesian Cultural Center Recipe
This haupia recipe was provided courtesy of
the Polynesian Cultural Center on the northeast shore of
Oahu Island in Hawaii. This recipe is similar to the
recipe they use for the haupia served at the
Polynesian Cultural Center's Alii Luau Feast.

Ingredients
-Two (16 ounce) cans of coconut milk
InstructionsMix two cups of the water with the 1.5 cups of cornstarch and set the mixture aside. Mix the coconut milk, sugar, and the remaining 1 cup of water in a saucepan and bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the boiling coconut milk and cook, blending constantly with a wire whip, until the mixture thickens. Pour the hot mixture indto a 9 inch by 13 inch baking pan. Cool to room temperaturee then chill it in the refrigerator until very cold. Cut the Haupia ito 1 inch squarees and serve on individual plates lined with ti leaves. Related Resources
