Aloha Boat Days
Port of Honolulu, Hawaii

When ocean liners first started arriving in Hawaii the local residents would gather at the pier to greet the visitors, dive for coins tossed overboard, offer to sell visitors a lei, and provide music entertainment. The Aloha Boat Days Committee has revived that tradition.

Aloha Boat Days is a non-profit committee established to coordinate welcome events for the ocean liners bringing visitors to Hawaii. The ships arrive at Piers 9 and 10 in the Port of Honolulu, and the greeting events typically take place about 7:00 a.m. Cruise ships are met with live music and hula dancing at the end of the pier.
