Hana Hotels and Vacation Rentals
Maui, Hawaii

Information about hotels and condominiums in the Hana area of the island of Maui in Hawaii.

Hana Hotels

Hana-Maui Hotel and Spa

There is only one real hotel in Hana, the peaceful and luxurious 70 room Hotel Hana-Maui. The hotel sits on 66 acres of oceanfront land at the end of the Hana Highway. It first opened in 1946 as the Ka-Uiki Inn and it was last renovated in 2002. Accommodations at the Hana-Maui include the bungalow style "Bay Cottages" near the main building, the "Sea Ranch Cottages" situated on a seaside bluff, and the "Plantation House", which is a luxurious 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, gourmet kitchen home with a wrap-around lanai that is situated on four acres of land. Amenities and facilities include the 7650 square foot Honua Spa, the Kauiki Restaurant, the Paniolo Lounge, and two swimming pools. To preserve a sense of serenity on the hotel grounds the rooms do not have radios, televisions, or even clocks! The Hotel Hana-Maui is not cheap - rack rates begin at about $500 per night - but if you feel like splurging on a romantic or private retreat, this is a beautiful and tranquil place to spend a few days. Located at 5031 Hana Highway. For reservations or more information call 808-248-8211 or 800-321-4262.

Hana Condominiums

Hana Kai Maui Condominiums
This oceanfront condominium development at Waikoloa Beach has studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom condominium units with full kitchens, private balconies, and panormaic views of Hana Bay. I think the Hana Kai now has a swimming pool, but I don't see it listed on their Web site, so check with the owners to be sure. Rates begin at about $200 per night for a partial ocean view studio and range up to about $450 a night for a deluxe 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom ocean front unit. Located at 1533 Uakea Road in Hana. For reservations or more information call 800-346-2772.

Hana Bed and Breakfast Inns

Heavenly Hana Inn
Three luxury suites, each with a bedroom, sitting room, and private batheroom, in a Japanese style inn. Community areas include a tea room, a meditation room, and a central room. Guests are asked to remove their shoes before entering the inn according to Japanese and Hawaii tradition and guests must be at least 15 years of age. Breakfast is available at the Heavenly Hana Inn for an extra charge and it is typically a very special meal featuring menu items such as macadamia nut coconut waffles with tropical fruit butter, vegetable or seafood frittata, lox and bagels, Hawaiian breakfast with baked fish and grilled fruit, Japanese breakfast with baked fish and miso soup, smoothies, granola, and other items. Picnic lunches and afternoon tea service are also available for an extra charge if arranged in advanced. Room rates begin at about $200 per night. Baby Pigs Crossing Bed & Breakfast
This guesthouse on an acre of land owned by artist Arabella Gail Ark has a separate bedroom with a queen size bed, a private bathroom, and a small kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, and toaster. and a private bathroom. Guest cottage rates are about $200 to $250 per night, depending on the length of the stay. The B&B can be contacted by writing to PO Box 667, Hana, Maui, Hawaii 96713 or by calling 808-248-8890.
