2008 Halloween Events on Maui

Information about 2008 Halloween events and activities on the island of Maui in Hawaii.

Iao Theater Pre-Halloween Performances
October 18-19, 2008 there will be two Halloween theme performances at the Historic Iao Theater on North Market Street in Wailuku, Maui. On Saturday, October 18, 2008 master storytellers Cathy Spagnoli, Lopaka Kapanui, Jeff Gere, and Kathy Collins will tell scary stories on stage. On October 19, 2008 there will be an open mike event where locals and visitors can share their scary stories. Note that children under 13 are not allowed at either of these events.

Lahaina Halloween Street Party
I heard a rumor that Lahaina's fabulous Halloween street party has been canceled for 2008, that is not exactly true. I did some digging around, and it seems that while the event was denied a street closure permit in 2008, it will still happen, but as an informal, not-officially-sanctioned event. For more updates and more information about 2008 Halloween activities in Lahaina contact the Lahaina Visitor Center in the Old Lahaina Courthouse in Banyan Tree Park and the LahainaTown Action Committee at 888-310-1117.
