4th of July Events on Kauai
There are usually 4th of July fireworks on Kauai Island
at the Vidinha Soccer Field in Lihue and in the town of
Kehaka in West Kauai. The celebration in Lihue is a
fundraiser for Hospice Kauai and it usually includes a
concert by a big name Hawaii performer.
Koloa Plantation Days
The Koloa Plantation Days Celebration is an
annual festival celebrating the cultures and
lifestyles of Hawaii's multi-ethnic plantation workers.
The event takes place in Koloa Town the last week in July
and it features historic tours, cultural demonstrations,
sports events, a luau, and live entertainment.
The 25th Annual Koloa Plantation Days Celebration
is scheduled to take place July 18-26, 2009 in
the South Kauai town of Koloa, not far from the
Poipu Beach resort area.
Kauai Music Festival
The Kauai Music Festival is an annual four-day songwriting
festival that took place for the first time in 2003.
The festival features songwriting workshops,
a songwriting competition, and a grand finale
public songwriter's concert. The 7th Annual Kauai
Music Festival will take place July 29 through
August 1, 2009 at the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort
in Lihue, East Kauai.
Summer Bon Dances on Kauai
There are usually bon dances on Kauai in July
at the West Kauai Hongwanji Waimea Temple,
the West Kauai Hongwanji Mission,
the Waimea Higashi Hongwanji Mission,
the Kapaa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, and the Kapaa Jodo Mission.
