Lydgate Beach Park
Kauai, Hawaii

Photos and information about Lydgate Beach Park, a popular swimming and snorkeling area on the east coast of Kauai, near Kapaa and north of Kalapaki Beach and the Wailua River.

Lydgate Beach Park is a great spot for family outings because it has two sandy-bottom swimming areas surrounded by lava rock walls to protect them from the rough surf of the open sea. The smaller swimming area is very shallow and perfect for tiny children who like to play in the water. The larger lava rock protected area is used by adults and older children for swimming and snorkeling.

Facilities and Attractions
Lydgate Park has a large sandy beach, grassy areas, shade trees, lifeguards, picnic tables, restrooms, and showers. The Kamalani Playground is located across the street.

Activities
Swimming and snorkeling are the most popular activities at Lydgate Beach because of the calm, clear water in the swimming areas protected from the open sea.

Friends of Kamalani and Lydgate Park
An organization formed to protect, maintain, and improve the Kamalani Playground and Lydgate Beach Park on the east coast of Kauai.
