About the Bamboo Hotel

An introduction and general information about the Bamboo Hotel in the Waikiki neighborhood of Honolulu on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The Aqua Bamboo Hotel is located about two blocks from the beach, the rooms are tastefully decorated, there's a spa on the grounds, and the secluded pool area with tropical plants is a lovely oasis in the middle of the Wakiki.

Loven Oven Pizza Cafe
Restaurant housed in a small building situated adjacent to the swimming pool in the hotel's patio area.

Spa at the Aqua Bamboo (CLOSED)
At one time there was a= spa on the grounds of the Aqua Bamboo Hotel that was housed in a small building next to the swimming pool. Spa treatments included massage therapy, couples massage, reflexology, body scrubs, facials, and aromatherapy. That building is now the home of the hotel's on-site restaurant.

About the Rooms at the Bamboo Hotel
The Aqua Bamboo has hotel rooms, studio apartments, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom units. The hotel rooms are nicely decorated, but small. the studios and other units are larger and all units except hotel rooms have a kitchenette or full kitchen. A continental breakfast is included in the room rate and it includes a sweet roll and other items delivered in a woven box by a server who pours hot coffee or tea.

Parking at the Bamboo Hotel
The Aqua Bamboo has a small underground parking lot, but sometimes guests have to park in one of the public parking lots nearby. Parking next door at the Pacific Monarch Hotel, is reasonably convenient except when you have to walk up and down one to five levels, through the parking structure, because only Pacific Monarch guests have access to the building's elevators.

What You Need to Know
There is not much parking at the Aqua Bamboo, the rooms near Kuhio Avenue have some street noise, and the basic hotel rooms are very small. If size matters, I recommending booking one of the suites because they are larger, they come with a kitchenette, and they are not expensive, especially if you request an AAA, AARP, or other discount. I also recommend booking the deluxe rooms and suites, instead of the basic level, when a deluxe category is available. The hotel is only 12 stories tall, so don't expect unobstructed views of the ocean or mountains.
