About the Private Island of Niihau

Niihau is the smallest of the inhabited Hawaiian islands. It is an arid island with typically less then 10 inches of rain a year. (Nearby Kauai Island gets up to 500 inches a year). the island has no paved roads, hotels or restaurants. It is entirely owned and managed by the Robinson family. Access to Niiau is strictly limited by its owners but a small number of hunting and other activity tours have been available since the late 1980's
