Niihau is the smallest of the inhabited Hawaiian islands. It is an arid island with typically less then 10 inches of rain a year. (Nearby Kauai Island gets up to 500 inches a year). the island has no paved roads, hotels or restaurants. The entire island of Niihau is owned and managed by the Robinson family.
