Puu Pehe Islet Off Lanai
Information about Puu Pehe, on the island of Lanai in Hawaii.
Puu Pehe is an iconic Lanai landmark and national historic place
situated between Manele Bay and Hulopoe Bay on the south coast of Lanai.
Puu Pehe is also known as Puupehe and
Sweetheart Rock.
Facts About Puu Pehe
NOTE: All flora and fauna on the islet are protected. Designated a United States national historic place and situated within the Manele Hulopoe Marine Conservation District. Access to the islet is prohibited but a viewpoint above the islet can be acessed by walking on a trail that begins at Hulopoe Beach. Puu Pehe islet is located between Manele bay and Hulopoe bay, approximately 150 feet off the shore. There is a stone structure on top of Puu Pehe that is thought to have been constructed by the ancient Hawaiians. There is a trail from Hulopoe Beach Park to the Puu Pehe Overlook. Along the trail you will pass tide pools, a stone arch, and Shark's Cove Beach.
