Kahoolawe Island Reserve Commission.
The Kahoolawe Island Reserve Commission was established by the Hawaii State Legislature in 1994 after the United States Navy deeded ownership of Kahoolawe to the State of Hawaii. The commission was established to manage all activities on the Kahoolawe Island. The commission's mission and activities include: Kahoolawe is to be preserved in perpetuity for the above uses. Commercial uses are strictly prohibited by Hawaii state law. Resources
