4th of July Events on Hawaii Island
Where to find parades, fireworks displays, festivals, and other United States Independence Day celebrations on the Big Island. Big Island Independence Day events include the Kailua-Kona 4th of July Parade, the Waikoloa Rubber Duckie and 4th of July Extravaganza, the Parker Ranch Independence Weekend Rodeo, the Firecracker Open Fishing Tournament, the Mauna Lani Turtle Independence Day Turtle Release and Celebration, and fireworks displays in several locations.

Big Island Hawaiian Music Festival
This festival presented by the East Hawaii Cultural Center features some of the top Hawaiian music singers and musicians in Hawaii, including legendary slack key guitar, steel guitar, ukulele, and falsetto performers.

Former Big Island July Evens

Kilauea Volcano Wilderness Marathon (2008 was last event)
This is one of the most difficult marathons in the world because of its route through the rough, off-road terrain of the Kilauea Volcano area. There are four sub-events every year: the full marathon Kilauea Volcano Wilderness Run, the 10 mile Rim Run, the 5 mile Kilauea Caldera Run and walking event. The 26th and final Kilauea Volcano Run took place in 2008.
