Hawaii, with rooms costing $100 per night or less.
Kona Side
Manago Hotel
A hotel on the main highway in Captain Cook
that has been owned and operated by the same
family since 1917. Hotel now has 64 rooms,
some of them in a new three story wing. Some
rooms have a private bathroom and balcony, some
have a shared bath, and thee is one Japanese
style room available. There is a Japanese
garden on the grounds and the hotel restaurant
has reasonably priced local style food. Located
on the west side of Hawaii Island.
Hilo Side
Wild Ginger Inn
A low cost, laid back hotel in Hilo with
old-Hawaii style ambiance.
Rooms are simple, but all have a private
bathroom and for slight more money you
can get a room with a king size bed, cable
television, and a small refrigerator.
North Side
Hotel Honokaa Club
A hotel built in 1908 in the town of Honokaa as a club
for plantation managers. Has private rooms,
two bedroom suites, and hostel style
dormatories. Located on the north side of the Big Island
Kohala's Guest House
This is not really hotel. It is a private
home that rents out rooms. I would call it a B&B
except breakfast is not served.
Located on the north side of the Big Island.
