Ahualoa for Visitors

The town of Ahualoa is located on the big island of Hawaii about 12 miles from Waimea Town, in Hawaii's "cowboy country". It is on 3 wooded acres which are about 2700 feet above sea level on the side of Mount Mauna Kea.

Visit Ahualoa
This site describes a morning farm tour in the Ahualoa, Waimea, and Honokaa Coastal region of the Big Island. The tour stops first at the Long Ears Hawaiian Coffee Farm for coffee and banana bread, then on to the Mauna Kea Tea Farm for tea and other treats, and finally a visit to the Volcano Island Honey Company for another sweet treat.

Kamuela Inn Log Cabin Rooms
This b&b has five rooms in a lodge style house on five acres in the town of Ahualoa. rooms have Queen size, full size, or two twin beds and two of them have private bathrooms. A gazebo spa is on the grounds, and room rates include breakfast.

Mountain Meadow Ranch
This Ahualoa ranch has a two bed and breakfast rooms and a two-bedroom vacation cottage for rent. The two B&B rooms share a bathroom, one room has a king size bed, and the other room has a double and a twin bed. The cottage has a queen size bed, two twin beds, one bathroom, a full size kitchen, and a washer and dryer. Rates for the two rooms (but not the cottage) include breakfast.

Skandia Cottage
This cottage in Ahualoa has a king size bed and two twin beds, a full kitchen, and two bathrooms. I believe the cottage is set up to be rented to two separate parties, but I'm not sure, so check before booking.

Star of Roses Organic Farm
An Ahualoa farm specializing in medicinal and culinary herbs that is certified as organic by the Hawaii Bio-Organic Growers Association.

Ahualoa Hog Farm
This hog farm in Ahualoa was founded by Ron and Daphne McKeehan in 1994. The farm is on 20 acres of land given to the couple by Daphne's father. in 2003 they had more then 200 hogs on the farm.
