Ilima Awards for Best Restaurants in Hawaii
The Honolulu Advertiser has been issueing their annual
Ilima Awards for to the best restaurants in Hawaii since 1997.
The Ilima Awards were a
people's choice award for the first nine years and in 2006
a critic's choice category was added.
The Honolulu Advertiser Newspaper asks the public to vote
on their favorite restaurants every summer and the winner's are
announced in the fall.
The awards are handed out an awards ceremony
and benefit that is held at the Diamond Head Theater,
and sold out every year. The categories have
shifted a bit from year to year. In 2006 the Honolulu
Advertiser separated some of the awards into
"people's choice" and "critic's choice" caategories.
